Job Description

The Summer Camp Assistant Coach is directly accountable to the Summer Camp Director and Lead SHE Coach.  The Assistant Coach works with the Lead Coach, other Instructors, campers, and parents to ensure that the spirit and the life of the camp reflect the Mission and SHE Fundamentals of the SHE Summer Camp curriculum. The SHE Assistant Coach:

  • Understands, embraces and implements the mission and philosophy as written in the SHE Instructor Handbook; models the organization’s philosophy in working with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.

  • Understands, embraces and implements the SHE camp’s mission and philosophy.  Develops innovative, creative, and fun programming with clear goals that are adaptable and adjustable based on the needs of girls each week.    

  • Works under the direction of the Lead Coach to plan, develop, facilitate, and lead a variety of activities and games for a specific age group each week. 

  • Supports the Lead Coach to execute summer camp programs & curriculum, activities, & field trips. 

  • Establishes a good rapport with the parents of the campers to ensure the mission of the camp is fulfilled.

  • Works with the Lead Coach to execute responsibilities relating to the facility                  

  • Agrees to fulfill the terms of the contract of employment.

  • Must be available for the entire SHE Summer Camp stated in the employee’s contract.

  • Willing to drive the transportation van when needed to pick up or drop off camp participants.

  • Must attend mandatory meetings, training & orientation.     

  • Willing to complete a background check and MVR report.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.                        

  • Experience working in schools, community/recreational centers, or summer camp programs.

  • CPR Certification

  • Valid Driver’s License (required)

The Summer Camp Lead Coach is directly accountable to the Summer Camp Director and Organization Executive Director.  The Lead Coach works with the Camp Director, other Instructors, campers, and parents to ensure that the spirit and the life of the camp reflect the Mission and SHE Fundamentals of the SHE Summer Camp curriculum. The Lead Coach:

  • Understands, embraces and implements the mission and philosophy as written in the SHE Instructor Handbook; models the organization’s philosophy in working with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.

  • Understands, embraces and implements the SHE camp’s mission and philosophy.  Develops innovative, creative, and fun programming with clear goals that are adaptable and adjustable based on the needs of girls each week.    

  • Collaborates with the summer camp Executive Director to plan, develop, facilitate, and lead a variety of activities and games for a specific age group each week. 

  • Executes summer camp programs & curriculum, activities, and field trips.

  • Supervises and ensures the safety of camp participants. 

  • Establishes a good rapport with the parents of the campers to ensure the mission of the camp is fulfilled.

  • Works with the Camp Director to execute responsibilities relating to the facility use.    

  • Works with the Camp Director to secure substitutes in the event of illness or other emergencies.

  • Agrees to fulfill the terms of the contract of employment.

  • Must be available for the entire SHE Summer Camp stated in the employee’s contract.

  • Willing to drive the transportation van when needed to pick up or drop off camp participants.

  • Must attend mandatory meetings, training & orientation. 

  • Willing to complete a background check and MVR report.   

 Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.      

  • Teaching experience or mentoring with elementary, middle, or high school youth.   

  • Experience working in schools, community/recreational centers, or summer camp programs.
